In January 2015, three members of “Golden City” Project Review Expert Team of Expert Review Committee of “Green Asia Habitat Award” of Asian Habitat Society (AHS) conducted field investigation and review to the “Golden City” Project developed by Uni Global Power Pet. Ltd.(a Singaporean developer) and located in the CBD of Rangoon, Myanmar. After listening to the introduction made by GOLDEN LAND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT CO; LTD to the project and organizing relevant experts for convening a review meeting, the field expert team unanimously agreed to bestow the title of “Green Asia Habitat Award” upon “Golden City”, and launched an official awarding ceremony on the afternoon of February 14, 2015.
After the review meeting, Mr. Tom Marnix Wolters, an expert of sustainable urban development of UN Human Settlements Programme, commented, “This project enjoys superior regional location and convenient traffic facilities. It abuts upon Inya Lake, the largest urban lake of Rangoon, and the famous ShweDagon Pagoda, enjoying both urban prosperity and natural wonder. This has provided a favorable guarantee for this project to be developed into an excellent habitat model.”
As informed, the successful development of “Golden City” in Myanmar has created many first places, the highest in Rangoon; the first French-style landscape architecture with a 2.5-acre community in Rangoon; having brought a world top property management company (USA Colliers International) into Myanmar for the first time; having brought the first international luxury operator (Reebonz) into Myanmar; having set up the first elite exchange platform in Myanmar; etc. All these factors display the high grade and internationalized quality of this project.Mr.Alex Camprubi, a member of AHS, said in his speech, “ As a large complex in a central urban dsitrict, ‘Golden City’ project covers such business types as high-grade residence, top-level serviced apartments, international standard office building, luxury shopping mall and platinum hotel. With excellent performance in such aspects as functional zoning, spatial change, traffic organization and classical French-style garden construction, “Golden City” has passed the strict review of 15 items of “Green Asia Habitat Award”. It is an excellent habitat project playing an international demonstrative role. Since it was established in 2004 and officially renamed in 2006, “Green Asia Habitat Award” has been bestowed upon excellent projects from more than 10 countries/regions in Asia. As the first project in Myanmar upon which this award has been bestowed, “Golden City” will certainly divert the attention of the real estate market of Myanmar to green, ecological, healthy and sustainable development and trigger the relevant implementation projects in Myanmar. In addition, the success of this project will surely bring about the vigorous and healthy development of the real estate of Myanmar.
